A fully resourced Yr7 RE mini unit exploring the enquiry question “Is religion a celebration?”, designed to introduce students to key ideas about religion, belief and practice.

Across the unit, pupils investigate a range of topics including places of worship, religious festivals and pilgrimage, before bringing their learning together to evaluate whether religion should be understood primarily as a celebration or something more complex.

The sequence is carefully structured to build from knowledge to reflection, helping students explore both the joyful and community aspects of religion as well as more serious elements such as worship, commitment and belief.

The final lesson includes a reading activity and reflective task, allowing students to develop balanced answers to the enquiry question and challenge common misconceptions about religion.
