    • This lesson is for GCSE Higher revision but can be used for a high ability KS3 class. This lesson goes through what is meant by ‘congruency’ and the four conditions that are sufficient to prove that two triangles are congruent. There is also an extension on being able to solve GCSE problems on congruency which will extend their learning to a Grade A.

    • Congruent triangles KS3 KS4 non-claculator. Includes examination style questions, some challenging questions. Includes areas of kite and rhombus, Pythagoras' Theorem, some basic circle theorems, isosceles triangles, area of a triangle. Useful for revision, classwork and homework. Also includes notes on conditions for congruency and why SSA and AAA do not work. Positive feedback always welcome and helps.

    • Decide which buildings are free from zombies (shufflers and nibblers) by using knowledge of congruence and similarity to help Deputy Nick Crimes. The PowerPoint has basic animations (the answers basically) as it was exported from Notebook, but I've no doubt you can add some if you like. There's a worksheet if the students need it.

      Another great, highly animated resource pack by alutwyche to engage students in lots of practice on congruence and similarity. Includes one 3D question as well.

    • A worksheet on powerpoint with answers on the following slide. Match up the congruent triangles, leaving ones which are not. For each match give a reason (eg.SSS). I have included some misconceptions to catch some out and also give possible class discussion points, (and edited the mistake mentioned in the comments)

      CIMT can be relied on to provide material on any topic. I often use the ideas from the mental tests in class - these mental tests are provided for each topic and are on that topic - not just mental arithmetic. The additional activities are very helpful - those here include an exploration of repeated reflections and a rather nice exercise to find the errors in a reflection.
