This Year 6 to Year 7 Maths Transition Booklet provides 30 structured daily sessions to help pupils consolidate essential mathematics and prepare confidently for secondary school.

Designed as the Core Edition within a differentiated transition range, the booklet offers an appropriate level of challenge for pupils working at the expected Year 6 standard. Each session contains five carefully selected questions covering key upper Key Stage 2 skills alongside early Year 7 concepts.

The booklet covers a broad range of mathematics, including:

  • fractions, decimals and percentages;
  • factors, multiples, primes and powers;

Questions combine fluency, application and reasoning. Pupils are encouraged to show their working, explain methods, identify misconceptions and make connections between mathematical ideas.

Each daily session also includes:

  • Misconception Watch;
  • Reflect;
  • Key Question;
  • Sometimes / Always / Never reasoning;
  • space for calculations and written explanations.

The matching worked-solutions booklet provides clear, age-appropriate working, final answers and model responses for every reflection section. It is suitable for use by teachers, tutors, parents or pupils checking completed work.

The booklet is dated from 22 July to 20 August 2026, with one manageable session for each day. It is ideal for:
