This fun and engaging choreography unit is perfect for boys and girls. Geared towards Year 9 (ages 13-14) PE and Dance intermediate and advancing students but has opportunities to challenge higher ability students while supporting lower ability ones. Creates a strong foundation for GCSE Dance.

Unit Aims:

  1. To be able to choreograph a dance with action reaction as a stimulus and a video game as the choreographic intention
  2. To be able to choreograph a dance with a wide range of ASDR and choreographic devices
  3. To be able to develop motifs using motif development techniques

Assessment of Learning:

  • Duet performance at end of the unit
  • Observations against assessment criteria (provided)

Includes:

  • Full scheme of learning mapped out over 6 weeks (6 hours)
  • Teacher’s PowerPoint
  • Clear assessment criteria and scoring system to make end of topic grading easy

Year 7 and 8 SOL which scaffold directly into this unit are also available
