Year 6 Catholic RE lesson plans for Branch 1: Creation and Covenant, containing seven sequenced 80-minute lessons. Explore stewardship, original sin, Baptism, Jesus’ New Covenant, faith and science, and biblical symbolism through engaging, classroom-ready activities.

This complete Year 6 RE unit supports pupils aged 10–11 to deepen their understanding of Creation, covenant, sin, salvation and Christian responsibility. Each weekly lesson is planned for 80 minutes and can be taught as two 40-minute sessions.

  • Designed for Year 6 pupils aged 10–11 in Upper Key Stage 2, this Catholic RE unit is part of the Discerning Disciples curriculum and aligned with the Birmingham Archdiocese RE Curriculum.

The lessons use the DISCERN pedagogical model

Use this resource as a complete seven-week Branch 1 unit, or select individual lessons to support teaching on Creation, stewardship, original sin, Baptism, covenant, faith and science, Christian scientists, Laudato Si’ and biblical symbolism.
