With the Summer holidays fast looming, and the World Cup well under way with a 91st minute winning goal for Spain on Monday, I thought it would be an idea to put together a World Cup cover sheet / worksheet lesson to engage our weary KS3 students in the final weeks!

One size fits all worksheets with something for everyone.

ACTIVITIES INCLUDE…

  • Ayuda al jugador a llegar hasta su balón
  • Encuentra las tres diferencias y enciérralas con un círculo
  • Observa las imágenes y completa el dibujo según tu creatividad
  • Do the maths sums. Look at the corresponding player and write the letter each sum refers to in the boxes at the bottom to reveal the secret Spanish word – what does the word mean in English?? (balón)
  • Conti-style exercises surrounding the following twelve vocabulary items:
  • Text Comprehension
  • Match the country to the flag
  • Match up the football vocabulary
  • Order the countries into the correct Continent column
  • World Cup official song *Dai Dai
  • Gap fill - football positions (use the text to help you): defensor, delantero, mediocampista, portero
  • Football predictions - use the sentence builder to write out six predictions for the World cup in Spanish
  • Match up the sentence starters to the sentence finishers to create a text about Lamine Yamal.

Full printable answer sheets included.
