This is a set of 48 specially created and researched cards (one for each country in the 2026 World Cup) in German on a Powerpoint, for you to download and print onto card or paper, for your students to play during their lesson.

Objective: To get them speaking the target language, to improve their knowledge of countries, numbers and flags, to improve their pronunciation, to collaborate in a competitive environment and to have fun!

Each card features the nickname of the team, the flag, the name of the country and the football federation’s logo. In addition, the 6 Top Trumps categories are:

• Number of times qualified for the World Cup
• Number of World Cup titles
• Best performance at a World Cup and when
• FIFA World ranking
• Record appearances made for that country and name of player
• Top goalscorer in current World Cup squad, name of player and their club

This information is correct as of June 4th 2026. In addition, there are instructions on how to play the game which can be displayed on a whiteboard or printed out for the students.
