Workplace Professionalism and Etiquette is a complete employability skills lesson designed to help students understand how professional behaviour builds trust, strengthens teamwork and supports workplace success.

Students explore practical workplace expectations including respect, responsibility, reliability, punctuality, communication, body language, appropriate presentation, mobile phone use, privacy, shared workplace spaces, initiative, handling mistakes and responding to feedback.

The resource uses realistic examples, workplace scenarios, discussion questions and reflection activities. Professionalism is presented as a set of behaviours that can be learned and improved, rather than a particular personality, accent or personal style.

This resource includes:

42-slide editable PowerPoint presentation with detailed teacher notes, examples, discussion prompts and suggested student responses.

24-page student workbook containing concept-building activities, workplace scenarios, language improvement tasks, self-assessment, review questions, a knowledge quiz and a personal action plan.

Student workbook supplied in editable Word, printable PDF and fillable PDF formats.

Teacher Answer Workbook with suggested answers, model responses and guidance for scenario discussions.

One-page Teacher Guide with preparation instructions, teaching sequence, differentiation suggestions and assessment guidance.

Suggested teaching time: 75 to 90 minutes, or two 45-minute lessons.

Suitable for careers education, employability skills, business studies, PSHE, vocational education, work experience preparation, further education, apprenticeship preparation and transition-to-work programmes.

The resource is particularly useful for students preparing for work experience, placements, part-time employment, internships, apprenticeships or their first job.

Files are supplied in Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word and PDF formats.
