Everything you need to teach the Anthropocene at KS3 - two complete resources, full answer keys, and no preparation required. This lesson pack covers geological time, the Holocene, the proposed start dates for the Anthropocene, and the scientific debate around it, for students aged 11-14.

The Anthropocene is a proposed new geological epoch marking the period in Earth’s history when human activity has had a major impact on the planet’s atmosphere, oceans, land, and living things.

The main worksheet contains 18 questions worth 100 marks across three progressive sections: knowledge recall covering geological time, the Holocene, and the basic definition of the Anthropocene (30 marks); application and understanding covering the Industrial Revolution, the Great Acceleration, and why the Anthropocene is debated (40 marks); and extension and analysis covering humanity’s impact on Earth’s systems and evaluation of scientific debate (30 marks). The extension pack provides four enrichment activities - a 12-term vocabulary matching exercise; a 24-mark challenge quiz with data interpretation; a 20-mark Crawford Lake case study; and a creative Teach It Back task assessed with a rubric. Full answer keys and detailed marking guidance are included for everything.

Buying this bundle saves £1 compared to purchasing both resources separately (£3 + £3 = £6 individually, £5 as a pack).
