Help your students talk about real-life travel experiences in meaningful Spanish with this ready-to-use reading comprehension, writing and speaking resource based on “Viajes con encanto”.

This resource centres around a rich, exam-style narrative text in which Alex describes three memorable trips he took last summer: travelling by train, plane, and car. Students explore essential travel vocabulary alongside high-frequency B1 grammar structures such as “ponerse + adjetivo”, “haber”, “volver a + infinitivo”, “llevar”, and expressive verbs linked to feelings and experiences.

Learners work with the text through comprehension, pair-talk and writing tasks that recycle useful travel and holiday language for GCSE / IGCSE Spanish, High School Spanish, and intermediate (B1) learners, with enough stretch for A-Level skills practice.

What’s included:

1 engaging narrative reading text (approx. 550–650 words) about Alex’s three different journeys (train, plane, car) written in accessible, natural B1 Spanish.
Highlighted vocabulary list with bilingual support for key expressions (emotions, travel verbs, useful structures).
3 comprehension questions focusing on detail, inference and feelings in the text.
3 communicative speaking prompts for meaningful pair or class discussion about travel preferences and real experiences.
1 guided writing task, “Mi viaje ideal” (150–200 words) where learners compare their own travel habits and preferences to Alex’s, using opinion language and connectives.
