This tutor time or wellbeing lesson is designed to help classes reflect, reset and rebuild a positive, respectful and supportive group culture. It is ideal for use after half term, at the start of a new term, or when a tutor group needs a fresh start.

Students are guided to:

  • Understand what “culture” and “community” mean in a practical, school context
  • Compare safe and unsafe group cultures
  • Reflect on how their words and behaviour influence others
  • Agree shared expectations for how the tutor group will treat each other
  • Take personal responsibility for creating a positive environment

The lesson includes:

  • Clear learning aim and key question
  • Visual scenarios to compare different group cultures
