A projector-friendly, self-paced times tables quiz that flashes up questions at your chosen speed, then marks itself two ways.

Times Tables Quiz is designed to be projected on the board while pupils work through it on paper — no clicking answers, no devices needed for pupils, just a clear, controlled pace for recall practice. You set it up, start it, and it runs itself.

Before you start, you choose:

  • Difficulty — five cumulative presets from Very Easy through Very Hard: Very Easy (0, 1, 2, 5, 10), Easy (+3, 4), Medium (+6, 9, 11), Hard (all tables to 12), and Very Hard (extends to 16) — so the same app covers an early multiplication introduction right through to a genuine stretch for your most confident mathematicians.
  • Number of questions — 10 or 20 per round.
  • Seconds per question — from 1 second (a real speed-recall challenge) up to 15 seconds (more thinking time for those still building fluency).

While it’s running:

  • A visual countdown bar beneath each question shows exactly how much time is left, so pupils can see the pace, not just feel it.
  • Click anywhere on the question, or press space, to skip ahead early — handy if the class finishes faster than expected and you don’t want to sit out the clock.
  • Hit Pause at any point to freeze the countdown mid-question — useful for a quick class discussion — then Resume to pick up exactly where you left off.

Once the round ends (“Pens down!”), you get two ways to follow up:

  • Show All Answers — the full answer list in a clean two-column layout, ready to compare against pupils’ work.
  • Single Answers — a marking mode that pushes back through the same questions one at a time, at the same pace and in the same large text as the quiz itself, but now showing the full fact (e.g. “3 × 5 = 15”). Perfect for pupils marking their own papers while the correct fact is reinforced one more time, out loud, as a class.
  • Runs entirely in the browser with no installation required, works fully offline once opened, and is completely GDPR-compliant — no pupil data is ever collected, stored, or uploaded. Ideal for a quickfire starter, a recall drill, or a self-marking plenary.*
