Everything you need to teach the hydrological cycle at KS3 — two complete resources, full answer keys, and no preparation required. This lesson pack covers the global water cycle, water stores and transfers, and all key drainage basin processes for Geography students aged 11-14.

The hydrological cycle is the continuous movement of water between the ocean, land, rivers, and atmosphere. It operates as a closed system globally and an open system at the drainage basin level, and is driven by the sun and gravity.
The main worksheet contains 16 questions worth 100 marks across three progressive sections: knowledge recall (30 marks) covering multiple choice, true/false, and fill-in-the-blank on key vocabulary; application and understanding (40 marks) covering definitions, stores-and-transfers sorting, short-answer questions on evaporation, the water droplet journey, and freshwater availability; and extension and analysis (30 marks) covering extended essays on vegetation and flooding and global versus local cycles, plus a data-led flooding case study. The extension pack provides four enrichment activities — a 14-term vocabulary matching exercise; a 25-mark challenge quiz including a water stores data table and a deforestation question; a 21-mark Somerset Levels floods case study with seven analysis questions; and a Teach It Back creative task assessed with a five-criterion rubric. Full answer keys and detailed marking guidance are included for everything.

Buying this bundle saves £1 compared to purchasing both resources separately (£3 + £3 = £6 individually, £5 as a pack).
