Pupils retell the story of the two contrasting sisters, the strange old woman in the woods, and the test of the talking eggs, using past tense, expanded noun phrases for the Louisiana setting and the magical cabin, subordination with ‘because’ and ‘when’, and exclamation marks to mark the moments of magic.
