The Pirate Game: Captain’s Edition
Interactive Classroom Quiz Game for KS2 / UKS2

Turn revision into a full-class battle of knowledge, luck and strategy with:
The Pirate Game: Captain’s Edition.

This self-contained browser game allows pupils to compete in teams as they explore mystery islands, answer curriculum questions, collect treasure, purchase strategic items and survive everything from mutinies and ghost ships to storms, raids and Kraken attacks.

The game runs directly in a web browser and works completely offline, making it ideal for interactive whiteboards, classroom computers and laptops.
Simply extract the ZIP folder and open index.html in Chrome or Microsoft Edge.

Key features

  • 16, 25, 36 or 64-island game lengths
  • Two to six editable pirate crews
  • Automatic scoring and live rankings
  • Separate protected banked gold and unprotected purse gold
  • Question, answer-reveal and teacher-marking sequence
  • Friendly Voyage, Classic Voyage and Total Chaos modes
  • Collectible strategy items including shields, spyglasses, compasses, powder kegs and golden keys
  • Ship’s Store for purchasing equipment
  • Banking, stealing, swapping and risk-or-reward choices

  • Y5/6 SPaG – 25 questions
  • Mixed curriculum starter pack

Teachers can also create and paste in their own question packs using the simple format: Subject | Question | Answer

Questions are displayed without the answer. Once pupils have responded, the teacher selects Reveal Answer, then marks the response as correct or incorrect. Correct answers unlock the island reward or consequence; incorrect answers close the island without awarding the event.

The combination of curriculum knowledge, tactical decisions and unpredictable pirate events ensures that every game is different.

Please note: Keep the included sounds folder in the same location as index.html so that all audio effects work correctly.
