A complete, no-prep 100-mark worksheet on the human digestive system — ready to use for lessons, homework, or revision with KS3 Biology students aged 11-14. Google Classroom ready.

The digestive system is a collection of specialised organs that break food into nutrients small enough to enter the blood. Each organ has specific adaptations suited to its role — from the acid-producing stomach to the villi-lined small intestine — making this one of the most visually rich and conceptually rich topics in KS3 Biology.

Structured across three sections of progressive difficulty: Section 1 (30 marks) covers core knowledge and vocabulary through six multiple choice questions on organ order, peristalsis, villi, and bile; a true or false table targeting eight common misconceptions; and a ten-gap fill-in-the-blank paragraph. Section 2 (40 marks) builds understanding through short-answer questions on the adaptations of the mouth, oesophagus, stomach, and small intestine; an eight-organ function table; definition writing for gland, adaptation, and digestion; and targeted questions on the roles of the pancreas and liver. Section 3 (30 marks) challenges students with extended writing tasks — describing the complete journey of a meal through the digestive system, evaluating the misconception that the stomach is where all digestion happens, and explaining why fibre is essential despite being indigestible. A full answer key with detailed marking guidance is included.

Also available: a companion extension pack with four enrichment activities, or save £1 with the complete lesson bundle — both listed on the iNewittAll TES store.

The accompanying YouTube video is Google Classroom ready — simply copy the link directly into your Classroom assignment.
