This pack contains everything you need to do a complete lesson on our local spider friends in the UK. The individual components also work well as part of a learning station or classroom display. I created this pack because it seems almost impossible to find child-friendly materials which focus on British spiders, meaning that a child might end up knowing a lot about tarantulas and nothing about the spiders that actually live in their house or garden! Great addition to a minibeasts unit. Includes some information on rare and endangered spiders which can also prompt discussion of biodiversity and conservation.

Includes:

  • Teaching notes and suggested lesson plan
  • Full colour book (25 pages)
  • Poster pack of spider posters and a banner which can be used for a display board, shown as a slide deck, or printed 4 to a page and laminated to make flashcards
  • KWL posters and differentiated student worksheets

Covers all of the following spiders:
Garden spider, Giant house spider, Noble false widow, Cucumber spider, Missing sector orb weaver, Labyrinth spider, Buzzing spider, Money spider, Cave spider, Zebra jumping spider, Daddy-long-legs, Flower crab spider, Wasp spider, Candy stripe spider, Cupboard spider, Water (diving bell) spider, Horrid ground weaver, Lace web spider, Nursery web spider, Fen raft spider, Ladybird spider
