A Spanish reading about what Pedro’s mother wants him to do when she is away from home. It is a text that contains many verbs (10 in total) in the present subjunctive tense and it clearly shows why we use it.

• Students should first answer some comprehension questions about the text

• then they have to write down what Pedro has to do when his mother is away from home (they have to use the infinitives of the verbs)

• then they have to find in the text the 10 verbs that are written in the present subjunctive tense

• and finally they have to write a text (using the subjunctive) about what their parents want them to do when they are away from home.
