Sentence completion practice: Mixed tenses and infinitive (Spanish)

Complete each sentence using an infinitive (-ar, -er, -ir) or conjugated verb in the present tense, preterit tense, or imperfect tense. After the infinitive or conjugated verb, add 4-5 words to expand on the sentence. For reflexive verbs, use the appropriate reflexive pronoun (me, te, se, nos, os, se). Do NOT repeat any verbs or infinitives. No one word responses.

In the first blank, write I if the sentence requires an infinitive, P if the sentence requires present tense, T if the sentence requires preterit tense, and M if the sentence requires imperfect tense. NOTE: Some sentences can use multiple verb tenses. In this case, choose and use only ONE verb tense.

*There are 5 sets with 5 sentences each.

Sample:

Set 1

____ 1. A las ocho de la mañana yo ________________________________

____ 2. Me gusta _____________________________________

____ 3. Yo tengo que _____________________________

____ 4. Cuando yo era niño(a), yo _________________________________

____ 5. Ayer yo _______________________________

Answer key is included on pages 3-4 for indicators only (infinitive, present, preterit, or imperfect tenses). Student answers will vary.
