A multi-sensory exploration of the alphabet exploring letter formation and sounds from a-z.

Each slide shows the letter formation and included a rhyme/ alliteration or phrase and an action to support recognition of the sound. Print to use as a book or scroll through on the screen.

Learner can see and trace the shape of the letter as the adult names and sounds the sound while tracing the letter formation on the learners back. Then a massage action to go along with the sound and phrase.

Developed for my class of sensory learners who really enjoyed the Story Massage songs. They responded really well the the massage walk through of the alphabet. Enjoying the joint attention, the contact and the alerting/ relaxing/ calming and engaging movements. As a repeated activity it has helped to learn the order of the alphabet, letter formations, exploration of sounds and alliteration and build positive relationships with learners and staff.
