Romeo and Juliet 2027 revision for English Literature Paper 1 revision lesson on context (AO3) and how this ties into ideas and interpretations (AO1). We explore the world of Shakespeare’s play and consider how context helps us to better understand the messages Shakespeare may have wanted to convey to his audiences, helping students to prepare for the exam in the 2027 summer. We explore the Elizabethan era, ideas regarding love, marriage and status, the Petrarchan lover, Christianity in England in the 16th century and more.

The lesson includes worksheets (printer symbol), differentiated and adaptive learning approaches, detailed theme notes and more.

A really useful way of revising this play in time for the Paper 1 exam in May 2027.
