This lesson is the first lesson in the GCSE Chemistry topic “Rate and Extent 2” (AQA GCSE Chemistry - 4.6.2.1 Reversible reactions, 4.6.2.2 Energy changes and reversible reactions & 4.6.2.3 Equilibrium)

In this lesson students will learn what a reversible reaction and equilibrium are, and the exothermic/endothermic nature of these reactions. They will also learn about the test for water using the reversible reaction of hydrated/anhydrous copper sulfate.

This lesson is relevant and suitable for students studying AQA GCSE Chemistry and AQA GCSE Combined Science.

  • Describe the exothermic/endothermic nature of reversible reactions
  • Describe the results of the reversible reaction test for water
