This fun and original assembly helps children to understand how small, kind actions can create a big impact, through:
-Understanding what kindness is and why it matters;
-Recognising that small acts can create a ripple or “domino” effect;
-Learning simple, practical ways to show kindness in school and at home;
-Reflecting on how they will demonstrate kindness today and every day.

This assembly is tried and tested, and has always been really well received in the past. The slides are visually engaging and well-presented, and the subject matter is tailored to the interests and needs of young people.

In addition to engaging embedded/ hyperlinked videos (the ‘Kindness Boomerang’ and the ‘Domino Effect’) there is also a fun gameshow-style team activity here, which helps children to identify different ways that they can be kind in different situations.

Also included is a ‘Kindness Calendar’ sheet that children can take away, which enables them to draw/write about their small acts of kindness across a designated week.

There is enough material to lead a 35-40 minute assembly here. It is suitable for children across the primary phase.

The slides are comprehensive and relatively self-explanatory, but I’ve included guidance notes to assist the speaker. Hope that you find this useful!
