This resource has been designed for students working towards Functional Skills Maths qualifications at Entry Level 3 (Edexcel-Pearson, NCFE, City and Guilds and Open Awards). It contains an age-appropriate, 34-page workbook and a 90 Slide PowerPoint lesson on using appropriate positional vocabulary to describe position and direction including eight compass points and full/half/quarter turns.

These resources will help pupils to achieve these outcomes:

use appropriate positional vocabulary to describe position and direction
understand and use the terms clockwise and anti-clockwise to describe movement and direction
understand and use the eight compass points to describe position and direction
use quarter turns, three-quarter turns, half turns and full turns to describe movement and direction
apply knowledge of position and direction to solve real-life problems

Workbook

The 34-page workbook contains 6 information pages, 25 worksheets (with answers), 2 progress checks and a certificate of achievement. It is available in PDF format and an editable PowerPoint version. The workbook can be used for classwork, homework, revision or as an independent learning pack.

PowerPoint Lesson

The editable, 90 Slide PowerPoint lesson provides many opportunities for pupils to develop their knowledge and understanding of position and direction and to apply this knowledge to solve real-life problems. The PowerPoint has links to a short video on movement and direction and example exam questions. It is ideal for introducing the position and direction component of the specification and for revision purposes.

Fantastic PowerPoints that explains everything a teacher needs to teach the lesson with great examples and exam style questions throughout. The workbooks are amazing quality resources too that go hand in hand with the PowerPoints . Clear explanations make it easy and simple for students to complete . It really does help in getting the students ready for their exam.

What a fantastic resource! i bought this as part of the level 3 bundle and have been very please with it. I teach children with significant needs in a special school and this powerpoint and workbook supplements the hands on practical maths lessons I teach. They are clear and simple enough for my learners to fopllow independently and provide sufficienct practise and challenge. An incredibly well planned and developed resouces that has saved myself and many other teachers a lot of time. I will certainly be looking at other workbooks and powerpoints from Inspire and Educate... Thank you!

Very few resources are available accessible for ESOL adults with additional needs / language deprivation. The PowerPoints align with worksheets really well, lessons are paced brilliantly with numerous examples. Resources enable independent work as tasks / steps clear and broken down. Thank you.

I bought this as part of a bundle about a year ago and have been using with great success to support our SEN learners in sixth form. There is more than enough material to support the EL3 scheme of work and my students loved how visual it was. This has saved me hours of planning and I have been able to use as much or as little as needed from the workbooks. I love how there are worded questions at the end of each topic booklet as this is often the area that students need extra practice. Now that I'm teaching Entry level 2 this year, I will be looking through the resources here to purchase some as I know how good they are!

Entry Level 3 maths bundle is awesome resource, especially for our SEN setting. Everything you need to teach the full course with engaging powerpoints and very detailed workbooks for each unit. The workbooks are very extensive, accessible for all learners and a wealth of visually pleasing questions. This resource has hugely simplified my planning and enabled me to easily personalise the learning for each student in my class. I would highly recommend this resource, and will definitely be purchasing the L1 resource when the students have progressed through this. thanks
