Poetry writing scheme of work document/scheme of learning document for our KS3 poetry writing pack. Designed for Year 7, Year 8 and Year 9 students, packed full of adapting learning/differentation approaches and free to download and use.

Incredibly detailed scheme of work document on reading skills (English Literature Paper 2) and writing skills (English Language) that includes activities and resources for over 18 lessons! Includes differentiated activities to three levels (core, support and more able), links to resources and more. Topics covered include language, structure, form, rhythm and rhyme, themes, genre and more.

Teachers and students spend a lot of time analysing poetry, but how often do we teach poetry writing? Primary teachers will develop writing skills with students, but this is something that often drops off at secondary level when it comes to poetry. There’s no better way to understand and analyse poems than to write your own!
