Lara and the Magical Flute

Reading u-e sound words. Story and supporting image.

An original story. By Elizabeth W.

Story is approximately 220 words that has the sound “u_e”.

Includes supporting image and text.

The “u_e” sound is a split digraph found in Phase 5 phonics. In this phase, children learn that the ‘u’ and ‘e’ are split by a consonant, but the ‘u’ still makes its long “you” sound. For example, in the word “flute,” the ‘l’ is between the ‘u’ and the ‘e’, but the ‘u’ still says its name.
