This KS2 English lesson supports Year 3/4 pupils in writing an explanation text using descriptive language. Pupils work collaboratively to build vocabulary before creating their own mythical creature and explaining how to care for it. The session links directly to lower KS2 writing objectives, including verbs, adjectives, adverbs, similes and conjunctions.
