Level 20 is the most challenging stage of the complete Number Target Challenge programme. These puzzles are intended for pupils who have developed strong arithmetic fluency and are ready to apply it within difficult, unfamiliar problem-solving situations.

Valid routes are extremely limited. Pupils may need to combine several advanced strategies, including working backwards, controlling factors, creating precise intermediate values and using large numbers in unexpected ways.
