Can your students identify the planets from their pictures alone? This worksheet shows eight planet illustrations and asks students to write the correct name underneath each one.

A step up from a matching activity, there’s no word bank, so students need to recall or research the planet names independently. You could easily differentiate by providing a word bank on the board for younger or less confident learners.

Great for:
Assessing planet knowledge during or after a space topic
Starter or plenary activity
Paired work, students can discuss and agree before writing
Homework or home learning task

Clear, colourful illustrations on a clean, printable layout. Suitable for KS1 and KS2.

This worksheet is also included in the Space Science Activity Pack, check out the bundle to save!
