Yr 7 MASTERY STYLE Addition and Perimeter

A week of lessons about adding whole numbers, decimals and applying to perimeter. Also contains some problems about money. Lesson 1: Column Addition Lesson 2: Perimeter Lesson 3: Adding Decimals including Perimeters Lesson 4: Murder Mystery Activity applying previous 3 objectives. Problem-based learning format; begins with a **problem** for class discussion and investigation, then guidance on how to **journal** the solution. A **collaborative class task** for students to develop deeper understanding before **independent task** and **Plenary**. Final slide is an **exit ticket** to show objective has been met. Outstanding challenge for low ability year 7; tough enough to challenge higher abilities or year groups! Minimal printing required.
