Bring some friendly monster fun into your classroom with this Monster Mash Fun Activities resource for EYFS and KS1.
The resource begins with a colour Monster Mash poster, followed by a black and white version for children to colour in.
A set of colour monster flashcards encourages children to carefully search the poster to identify each monster, spot any monsters that are missing and notice any differences. The flashcards can be duplicated, cut out and laminated to create matching games, memory pairs, sorting activities and small-group games.
Black and white duplicates of the flashcards allow children to colour the monsters to match the originals or invent their own monster designs.
Blank monster name cards give children the opportunity to draw and design their own versions of each monster, encouraging creativity while reinforcing reading and vocabulary skills.
The pack also includes monster description cards, encouraging children to listen carefully or read clues before finding the correct monster. These activities help develop descriptive language, observation skills and confidence in using adjectives.
This resource is ideal for Halloween-themed learning, providing a fun, friendly and non-scary way to celebrate the season.
It can be used alongside Halloween topics, storytelling, descriptive /imaginative /Sci-Fi writing, art activities and speaking and listening games.
