Build confident recall of essential trigonometry vocabulary with this comprehensive Maths Literacy Anagrams resource. Designed for mixed-level KS3 and GCSE mathematics, the pack gives pupils repeated clue-based practice with the precise language used for right-angled triangle trigonometry, side naming, trigonometric ratios, Pythagoras’ theorem and the sine and cosine rules.

Each activity asks pupils to read a mathematical clue, identify the correct term, rearrange the scrambled letters and write the completed answer using the word-length support provided. Pupils therefore need to understand the definition before they can solve the anagram, making the resource a purposeful mathematical-literacy activity rather than a simple spelling puzzle.

The resource contains 10 different printable worksheet versions, with 10 clue-and-scramble questions on each worksheet, providing 100 pupil questions in total. Every worksheet has a corresponding solution page for efficient marking, self-assessment and whole-class feedback. The combined PDF also includes a product front sheet, catalogue structure page and product-specific overview, while the editable 16:9 PowerPoint provides classroom-ready question slides and matching answer slides.

Vocabulary included: opposite, trigonometric ratio, Pythagoras’ theorem, cosine, tangent ratio, sine rule, cosine rule, hypotenuse, adjacent, sine.

Use the worksheets for starters, plenaries, retrieval practice, revision, homework, cover work, intervention, tutoring or independent study. The ten versions allow the vocabulary to be revisited across several lessons, used with parallel classes or distributed within one class to reduce copying. The editable PowerPoint also allows the activity to be completed collaboratively as a whole-class challenge before revealing the matching answers. Print the required worksheet or open the PowerPoint for an immediate, no-preparation mathematical-literacy activity.
