Help autistic students and special education learners match cause and effect using clear picture cards and structured worksheets.

I created this printable resource to provide concrete, visually clear practice with everyday cause-and-effect relationships. Students read or listen to short sentences, examine photorealistic educational images, match each cause with its effect, and answer picture-choice questions.

What Is Included
  • 24 original cause-and-effect pairs
  • 48 photorealistic picture cards
  • 24 large-card pages with 2 cards per page
  • 12 small-card pages with 4 cards per page
  • 12 cause-and-effect worksheets
  • 24 questions with four picture choices
  • Three organised PDF files
  • Six familiar categories: School, Home, Weather, Science, Community and Problem Solving

  • Visual discrimination
  • Logical thinking and problem solving
  • Functional vocabulary
Classroom Use

Teachers can use the resource for autism support, special education, literacy centres, speech and language sessions, small-group teaching, one-to-one instruction or familiar independent practice.

Begin with one category and a choice of two possible effects. Students can match, point, select, circle, read or give a spoken response. Introduce additional choices and mixed categories when learners are ready.

The large cards are useful for direct teaching and demonstrations. The smaller cards work well for matching activities, task boxes and compact storage. The worksheets provide follow-up practice after students have explored the card pairs.

This resource is suitable for primary pupils, beginning readers, autistic students and learners with speech and language needs. Short sentences, predictable layouts, concrete examples and reduced visual distractions support students who benefit from structured visual learning.
