Lord of the Flies introduction lesson that explores William Golding’s novel as Ralph and Piggy are first introduced. We learn about atomic bombs, the Manhattan Project and how this context influences our understanding of these new characters in Chapter 1 - The Sound of The Shell.

Students analyse the two new characters, finding quotations to support their interpretations and making inferences based on their new understanding. An excellent way to introduced the text to both KS3 and KS4 classes.
