A lesson which looks at the important of adding detail and description to their creative writing.

Students are asked to write instructions on ‘how to wake someone up’. They can take it in turns to act out their answers, or (for less chaos) the teacher can choose a few examples to act out with volunteers. Students then watch the video clip modelling the process of adding more detail to their answers.

A discussion around kindness, compassion, and adding lots of detail happens on the ideal way to wake someone up. Students then write a paragraph explaining in as much detail as they can.
