This is a ready-to-teach lesson using Inside Out’s Personaity Islands to get students thinking about what core memories have shaped who they are. There is no need for any background knowledge for you or the students.

Students reflect on their core memories, important events/experiences that have shaped their identity, behaviour an interests. The activity takes the whole lesson as from my experience student really get absorbed into the main activity.

This lesson series is written for Year 9 Psychology but can be used for PSHE, Wellbeing, Tutor Time, end of year lesson fillers and more.

  • Open-ended task that allows students full creative freedom and ownership of their thinking.
  • Real student examples of work for students who may struggle to get started or to show expectations.
  • Built-in differentiation
