This ready-to-teach lesson introduces the 5 core emotions with no background knowledge needed for you or the students.

Students watch a clip tracking Riley’s emotional journey identifying each core emotion, what triggers the emotion, how Riley reacts and why the emotion matters. Students turn their observations into a graph plotting Riley’s emotions over time.

The lesson series written for Year 9 Psychology but genuinely can be used anywhere- PSHE, Wellbeing, Tutor time, End of term lesson fillers, etc.

What’s included:

  • Fully editable PowerPoint lesson with a starter, learning objectives, structured tasks, and discussion prompts that challenge stereotypes around emotions and psychological purpose of each emotion.
