Default Settings: Help students recognise the automatic beliefs and behaviours they never consciously chose, and discover how noticing, questioning and updating those defaults can lead to better decisions.

This whole-school assembly uses a live audience demonstration and a simple framework to encourage students to identify the automatic patterns shaping their choices without ever being told they need to become a different person.

What it covers
· Where automatic reactions and beliefs come from
· Why coping strategies and habits can become mistaken for personality
· The difference between automatic behaviour and intentional choice
· A simple framework students can use immediately
· Real-life examples of updating automatic reactions in everyday situations

What’s Included
· Fully editable PowerPoint presentation
· Complete speaker notes with suggested script, timing and delivery guidance
· Approximately 15-minute assembly
· Suitable for KS3, KS4 and KS5

This assembly is designed to leave students with one memorable question:
If you were choosing that setting for the first time today… would you still install it?
