This engaging, accessible ready-to-teach Spanish lesson focuses on school and school life in the Hispanic world, and is designed especially for KS3 or lower KS4 Spanish students.

The lesson blends reading comprehension, guided writing, and some Hispanic cultural knowledge on uniforms, giving students a well‑rounded and meaningful learning experience. Students begin with a retrieval starter activity, followed by:

  • Key essential school-related vocabulary (subjects, people, places, routines)
  • Grammar focus - Opinion Phrases.
  • Reading and translation tasks (include vocabulary scaffolding).
  • Dual-coded extra vocabulary task about school subjects.
  • Culture Zone exploring the use of uniforms in different Spanish‑speaking countries.
  • Extended writing task (includes a very useful sentence builder with all the information students might need to get started).

A sentence builder/starter, vocabulary bank and connectives are provided to support lower‑level learners, while challenge extensions are available to encourage stronger students to justify opinions or include an extra tense. Perfect for KS3 or KS4 Spanish lessons, cover work, mixed-ability classes or as an extra resource for revision and consolidation sessions.

  • Fully scaffolded lesson – from starter to independent writing.
  • Engaging visuals & tasks to maintain attention and support inclusive teaching.
  • Clear grammar explanations with examples.
  • Built-in differentiation and challenge opportunities.
  • Cultural insight to broaden global awareness.
