A complete, ready-to-teach KS3 Religious Studies scheme of work exploring conflict through the study of Islam, jihad, misconceptions, media bias and Islamophobia. Designed to engage learners through enquiry, discussion and critical thinking while reducing teacher workload.

This fully resourced unit develops pupils’ understanding of the causes of conflict, key Islamic beliefs, the Five Pillars of Islam, greater and lesser jihad, extremism, stereotypes, bias, media representation, the impact of 9/11 and the causes and consequences of Islamophobia. Throughout the unit, pupils are encouraged to challenge misconceptions, evaluate evidence and make informed judgements using respectful, evidence-based discussion.

Lessons are carefully sequenced and include retrieval practice, literacy, oracy, SPaG, guided reading, modelling, numeracy, discussion, peer assessment, whole-class feedback, retrieval quizzes and extended writing opportunities throughout. The scheme follows a consistent lesson structure to reduce cognitive load while gradually increasing challenge and independence.
