This fun and engaging choreography unit is perfect for boys and girls. Geared towards Year 8 (ages 12-13) PE and Dance beginner and intermediate students but has opportunities to challenge higher ability students while supporting lower ability ones. Creates a strong foundation for GCSE Dance.

Unit Aims:

1. To understand what contemporary dance is and identify key features
2. To be able to use chance choreography to create a motif
3. To be able to use ASDR and basic choreographic devices to develop a motif

Assessment of Learning:

• Small group performance at end of the unit
• Observations against assessment criteria (provided)
