A complete, no-prep 100-mark worksheet on tourism — ready to use for lessons, homework, or revision with KS3 Geography students aged 11-14. Covers the full topic from definitions to Butler’s model and the Blackpool case study.

Tourism is the movement of people away from home for pleasure. It is one of the world’s largest industries, and understanding it — including how and why destinations rise and fall in popularity — is a core part of the KS3 Geography curriculum.

Structured across three sections of progressive difficulty: Section 1 (30 marks) covers the definition of tourism, international and domestic tourism, the UK’s tourism industry value, Butler’s seven-stage model, and the growth of tourism since the 1950s, through multiple choice, true/false, fill-in-the-blank, and matching exercises. Section 2 (40 marks) builds understanding through short answer questions on tourism types and growth factors, a Butler’s model table completion, graph interpretation of the model’s stages, key term definitions, and an extended explanation of the fork between decline and rejuvenation. Section 3 (30 marks) challenges students with extended writing on all five growth factors, a Blackpool case study analysis mapped to Butler’s stages, and an evaluative essay on whether decline always leads to permanent failure. A full answer key with detailed marking guidance is included. This resource is Google Classroom ready.

Also available: a companion extension pack with four enrichment activities, or save £1 with the complete lesson bundle — both listed on the iNewittAll TES store.
