An introduction to gothic literature, with a writing task inspired by pictures of gothic settings and characters.
References: Dracula; Frankenstein’ Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde; Werewolf

Lesson includes a starter looking at the key themes of gothic images and what they make us feel / imagine / think about; examples of what kinds of characters would live in a gothic castle; an extract from Dracula where we can recognise gothic ideas and themes; enhancing our vocabulary; and a writing task where the students can choose the gothic setting, characters and plot.
