This fun, colourful path puzzle activity is an A4 landscape worksheet for KS1 and younger KS2 pupils, which asks children to follow three different walking routes to use their mathematical and reasoning skills to order the items they encounter on their chosen route. There is a clear answer section underneath each puzzle to put the order that they encounter the tree, red car, blue car or house from 1 to 4. Each puzzle features the Global Car Recycling Day mascot ‘Carlu’. This resource is a great attention activity handout for class time and will give teachers the opportunity to talk about how families use cars and the importance of taking old cars to be recycled at proper recycling centres to protect the environment. For younger children, the path puzzle will help build finger control, basic mathematical skills and fine motor skills via finger or pencil tracing. Older children will enjoy the numerical puzzles using basic logic and practicing number writing. It’s a great follow-up activity task to the Global Car Recycling Day video that you can show to primary school children and junior school pupils either during a lesson or as part of an assembly. There are other supporting resources available related to this topic - other activity worksheets, fact sheets, drawing challenges, colouring-in, puzzles - printable and online resources.
