UPDATED LESSON!

Module 1 – ¡Diviértete!

Unit 1 – Mi vida digital (My digital life)

Help your students talk confidently about their digital lives with this engaging, GCSE-style lesson designed for the Edexcel GCSE Spanish (2024) specification. Students revise the present tense while learning to discuss how they use technology, social media and apps, using expressions of frequency and high-frequency GCSE vocabulary through a wide range of carefully scaffolded activities.

This lesson is designed for mixed-ability classes, with clear support for all learners alongside extension and challenge tasks to stretch higher-attaining students.

The lesson includes:

  • Retrieval practice and starter activities
  • Vocabulary-building tasks using only vocabulary checked against the Edexcel GCSE Spanish (2024) prescribed vocabulary list
  • Reading, translation and comprehension activities
  • Grammar practice on the present tense (regular and common irregular verbs)
  • Activities using expressions of frequency in context
  • 2 x listening activities (includes audio file)
  • Pronunciation (phonics) practice
  • Challenge activities aimed at higher-attaining students
  • A printable student workbook
  • Answers to all activities

Ideal for Year 10 or Year 11 students, this lesson provides excellent practice of one of the key GCSE topic areas while reinforcing essential grammar, vocabulary and exam skills. All vocabulary has been carefully checked against the Edexcel GCSE Spanish (2024) prescribed vocabulary list, ensuring complete specification coverage and giving teachers confidence that students are practising relevant exam language.

NOTE: In the vocabulary sheet, words marked with an asterisk () are intended for Higher Tier students. Words that are both bold and marked with an asterisk () are not part of the Edexcel GCSE Spanish (2024) prescribed vocabulary list, but have been included because they are useful within the context of the lesson.
