This fun 7-page bird-themed activity pack helps children develop early literacy and maths skills through hands-on learning.
The resource includes colour and black-and-white bird cards featuring bird pictures and matching word labels, as well as black-and-white bird images with dotted words for children to trace and read. The birds included are pelican, humming-bird, peacock, chicken, swan, crow, heron and seagull.
Children can colour the pictures, cut them out and sort them into beginning sound groups (s, p, c and h) or match them to the correct bird names.
Additional activities provide opportunities to sort, count and record totals, with both colour and black-and-white versions included.
Children can also draw their own birds or paste bird pictures into the spaces provided under each word label.
The activities support the development of reading, writing, spelling, phonics, sorting, classification, counting and number recognition skills, making the pack ideal for EYFS and KS1 classroom learning, intervention groups, independent work and home learning.
