“Attention Explorers! You have entered the high-tech burial chamber of a Galactic Pharaoh. The treasures are protected by a 10-digit security sequence. To claim the gold and escape, you must solve the 10 mathematical riddles hidden in the ancient archives. You have 45 minutes before the oxygen system fails and the tomb seals shut!”

Bring the magic of Ancient Egypt and the thrill of Sci-Fi into your classroom! This Year 3 & 4 Maths Escape Room is a cinematic, “zero-prep” immersive experience designed to challenge pupils with multi-step reasoning, mathematical fluency, and collaborative problem-solving.

The Mission Structure:

This resource uses a “Hybrid” format: a compelling digital interface combined with traditional paper puzzles.

The Digital Hub (PowerPoint): This provides the mission briefing, a built-in automated 45-minute countdown, atmospheric backgrounds, and a final code entry screen.

The Evidence Logs (Pupil Booklet): Students must solve 10 separate maths puzzles across the printable student booklet. Each completed ‘Log’ provides one digit of the final 10-digit Code.

What’s Included in the Pack:

Cinematic PowerPoint Presentation: 15 high-quality slides with “Galactic” themes, pyramid visuals, and an integrated timer.

Teacher’s Mark Scheme (Answer Pack): A complete step-by-step guide with detailed solutions for all 10 logs.

Pupil Evidence Log (Worksheet Booklet): A 10-lock printable booklet where students complete calculations and logic puzzles.

Post-Mission Reflection Plenary: A reflection worksheet for pupils to evaluate the difficulty and their team performance.

National Curriculum (Year 3 & 4) Mapping:

This challenge targets a wide range of Lower Key Stage 2 (LKS2) objectives:

Pyramid Inventory: Addition & Subtraction (Multi-digit)

The Sphinx Riddle: Multi-step Multiplication

The Pharaoh’s Court: Perimeter & Area Reasoning

The Nile Journey: Measurement & Distance

Papyrus Records: Fractions of Amounts

The Sundial: Time & Intervals (Elapsed Time)

The Marketplace: Money & Change calculations

Tomb Dimensions: Rounding & Place Value

Hieroglyphic Data: Interpreting Bar Charts and Statistics

The Final Lever: Mental strategies and inverse operations

Why Teachers Love This:

Zero Preparation: Simply print the pupil logs and play the PowerPoint.

High Engagement: The combination of a ticking clock, atmospheric music, and visual story keeps pupils engrossed.

Curriculum Focused: Designed specifically to address LKS2 reasoning and problem-solving standards.

Explorers, the tomb is closing! Solve the logs and escape!
