A French Petit Poulet playscript pack with script and translation for years 5/6.

The following resources are included:

• Peer performance evaluation sheet

Using these resources, pupils can have fun practising and performing the story Petit Poulet (Chicken Little). The playscript has been written for groups of 6 performers; however, it could be easily adapted for more or fewer people.

An English translation has been provided to help pupils understand the script if needed.

As some characters have more lines than others, this resource is ideal for mixed ability groups, enabling pupils with a range of ability levels to participate in the performance.

This material can be used to teach the following National Curriculum languages attainment targets:
• To listen attentively to spoken language and show understanding by joining in and responding;
• To speak in sentences, using familiar vocabulary, phrases and basic language structures;
• To develop accurate pronunciation and intonation so that others understand when they are reading aloud or using familiar words and phrases;
• To present ideas and information orally to a range of audiences;
• To read carefully and show understanding of words, phrases and simple writing;
• To appreciate stories, songs, poems and rhymes in the language;
• To broaden their vocabulary and develop their ability to understand new words that are introduced into familiar written material.
