A short video of me practising a sequence of warm-up actions to do with primary school classes (ages 3-11) to inspire ideas for poetry-writing.

Acting out helps children to focus in on the subject. With fireworks, there are so many exciting features to tap into - sounds, colours, shapes, drama, atmosphere, and the community behind the event, and the thrill of the dark sky, not forgetting the cowering birds and animals in the background!

By the way, my book of animal poems, Squeak! Squawk! Roar!, is out now.
