There is a retrieval practice starter based on the content from the previous lessons. We begin by looking what sustainable energy use involves and how we as individuals can reduce our energy consumption. The students have some picture prompts to help work out what the actions are. We then annotate a diagram of a home with some sustainable energy features. We then look at the city of Malmo to see how its redevelopment has turned it into one of the most sustainable cities in regards to energy conservation and consumption. The students have a worksheet detailing the different features of the project and they can categorise these into the three aspects of sustainability (social, economic and environmental) and explain how it helps make the city more sustainable. We move onto transport and the workplace. The students complete a simple highlighting task looking at how effective and readily used these strategies could be before deciding the most effective ones.

We finish with 6-mark GCSE-style evaluation question based on the content of the lesson and the students have some tips and guidance on how to answer it if required. They also have a writing frame.
